Introduction to Hunter’s Moon Kennel

The October full moon is known as the Hunter’s Moon. At Hunter’s Moon Kennel we feel there is no better month than October — whether it’s chasing your favorite upland birds or in a blind waiting for waterfowl to come in. Additionally, we believe that there is no better versatile hunting dog to be hunting with than the Small Munsterlander.

Our mission is to breed healthy, stable Small Munsterlanders. To do so we make sure that they meet SMCNA breed standard, hips are rated “good” or “excellent” according to the OFA, or receive a reading of distraction index of less than .50 in PennHIP. We require that both the dam and the sire excel in the NAVHDA testing system. Lastly, we only breed dogs who are proven wild bird hunters and are easily trainable.

We promise to continue to support the buyer as the puppy grows up to assist with raising, training, and natural ability testing. However, our expectation is to place dogs into hunting homes to ensure that they grow up as active hunting dogs — which, after all, is what they love to do.
